Company develops presence in The Americas and Europe led by Howard Pollack as Vice President, Business Development and Laura Shelton, Ph.D., as Senior Manager, Business Development and Marketing

Palo Alto, December 1st, 2023 – bitBiome Inc, a biotechnology company unlocking the potential of our planet’s microbes to power the future of the bioeconomy, today announced the formation of its global Commercial Team led by Howard Pollack as Vice President, Business Development and Laura Shelton, Ph.D., as Senior Manager, Business Development and Marketing.

Additionally, bitBiome was selected as a co-working member of the Japan Innovation Campus, a startup support base established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Silicon Valley, USA. We will also utilize this base to promote the expansion of Japanese biomanufacturing technology into the United States.

With the expansion of the Commercial Team, bitBiome is poised to provide a wide array of novel, synthetic bio-based solutions, from enzyme development to small-scale demonstration and scaling up processes, for clients across the Americas and Europe.

Pollack brings over 30 years of experience with enzyme applications and business development leadership with roles spanning a broad range of industry verticals. He previously headed up the Americas business development at Codexis, where he played a pivotal role in the success of its food and industrial enzyme business. He has also led sales and marketing efforts at Amano Enzyme and Novozymes. He holds a B.S. in Food Science from Rutgers University.

Shelton brings over 10 years of experience in business development and marketing for small biotech companies and startups, including at bitBiome for the past year. She previously led marketing efforts and advised on business development for Matterworks, Human Metabolome Technologies America, and Minerva Biotechnologies. She holds a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and Biochemistry from Boston College.
